The challenge
Maximum scale in a petrochemical environment
The Petrobras operation in Itaboraí brings together thousands of workers in a petrochemical environment, where electronic equipment can enter hazardous (classified) areas only with Ex certification. Taking connected worker technology to that scale called for a device approved for explosive atmospheres and up to the standards of Brazil's largest company.

Ex-certified Smartbadge, approved for use at Petrobras
The Smartbadge with Ex certification was approved for use at Brazil's largest company. Each worker wears the digital PPE like an ID badge, with real-time location, an emergency button, and direct communication with the control room, inside and outside hazardous areas.
