Smartbadge: a badge that protects, worn on every worker's chest.
Brazil's first Ex-rated smart badge puts an emergency button, real-time location, and direct communication with the control room into a single piece of digital PPE.
- Ex certification (Brazil's INMETRO and ANATEL)
- More than 5,000 connected workers at Petrobras
- Privacy compliant with the LGPD (Brazil's data protection law)
What is the Smartbadge?
The Smartbadge is PHYGITALL's smart badge, a piece of digital PPE that protects industrial workers. Worn on the chest, it combines an emergency button, real-time location, and direct communication with the control room. It holds Ex certification from INMETRO (Brazil's certification body) and type approval from ANATEL (Brazil's telecom regulator), so it can operate safely in hazardous (classified) areas.
Everything the Smartbadge does for people in the field.
Emergency button
A single press alerts the control room, which responds immediately, knowing the caller's exact location.
Real-time location
Every worker's position, at scale, inside and outside hazardous areas.
Two-way communication
The control room contacts people in the field and receives confirmations, without relying on cell signal.
Auditable evidence
Records that support risk management and compliance with Brazil's NR safety standards (NRs), ready for audits.
Operational efficiency
Lower indemnity costs and a more efficient operation, backed by real data from the field.
Integrated platform
Real-time geolocation, geofences, floor plans with routes, and a KPI dashboard.
Ready for explosive atmospheres.
In refineries, on offshore platforms, and in other hazardous areas, flammable gases and vapors turn any spark into a real risk. That's why ordinary electronic devices can't go into these environments. The Smartbadge can.
Intrinsically safe
The circuit is designed so it cannot release enough energy to cause ignition, a requirement for continuous use in explosive atmospheres.
INMETRO certification
Confirms the device's Ex protection rating for hazardous areas, a requirement of Brazil's most demanding industries.
ANATEL type approval
The device's radio communication is approved for use in Brazil, in compliance with telecom regulations.
Brazil's first Ex-rated smart badge, approved for use at the country's largest company.
The goal is to protect lives, never to look over anyone's shoulder.
Worker privacy is designed into the Smartbadge, guaranteed by the hardware itself and by data processing that complies with the LGPD.
Doesn't listen in or record audio
No sound is captured: conversations in the field are neither recorded nor stored.
Doesn't record video
The Smartbadge doesn't capture video anywhere in the plant, under any circumstances.
Doesn't take photos
No images are captured, and no data from locker rooms or restrooms is stored.
LGPD-compliant data processing, from the device to the platform.
One device that powers two solutions.
The Smartbadge is the entry point to the PHYGITALL Platform: the same field data drives both safety and productivity. You can start with one and expand when it makes sense.
Safeline
Connected worker technology for maximum protection: instant alerts, an emergency button, and auditable evidence, in compliance with the NRs.
Discover Safeline ProductivityPulse
Artificial intelligence that turns field data into productivity and efficiency on the production line.
Discover PulseFrequently asked questions about the Smartbadge
Is the Smartbadge comfortable to wear for a full shift?
Yes. It has the form factor of an ID badge and is worn on the chest like any other credential. Field workers put it on at the start of their shift and go about their work as usual, with no wires or extra equipment.
Does the Smartbadge record audio or video?
No. The device does not listen in, record audio or video, or log conversations. It also stores no data from locker rooms or restrooms. The goal is to protect lives.
Does the Smartbadge work without cell coverage?
Yes. It communicates over PHYGITALL's private LoRaWAN network, which covers the entire plant, even where cell signal doesn't reach, both inside and outside hazardous areas.
What happens when someone presses the emergency button?
The control room receives the call instantly, along with the caller's location, and responds right away. Two-way communication lets you confirm that the call is being handled and coordinate assistance. The entire event is recorded as auditable evidence for risk management.
Does the Smartbadge comply with the LGPD?
Yes. Data processing follows the LGPD: the device collects only the data needed to protect the worker, captures no audio or images, and stores no data from locker rooms or restrooms.
